Two different notations are supported. For an explanation of them, see: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langton%27s_ant - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turmite Examples turmites taken from the above articles: RL RLR LLRR LRRRRRLLR LLRRRLRLRLLR RRLLLRLLLRRR R 1 0 , R 1 1 ; N 0 0 , N 0 1 N 1 1 , L 1 0 ; R 1 1 , N 0 0 R 1 1 , R 0 1 ; N 1 0 , N 1 1 R 1 1 , L 1 1 ; R 1 1 , R 0 0 L 1 0 , R 1 1 ; R 0 0 , L 0 1 L 1 1 , L 1 1 ; R 1 1 , N 0 0 Some interesting ones I've stumbled upon: Chaotic growth with no obvious pattern: RLLL LRLL Highway after 200K+ ticks: LLRL Variations of Langton's Ant: RL RUL RUUL etc. They all seem to produce an essentially identical pattern. The second one takes 2.6M+ ticks to get to the highway. Logarithmic growth: RN RRN RRRN etc.
